The Atlanta Falcons have now interviewed four coaches for their defensive coordinator vacancy. The team met with Green Bay Packers pass-game coordinator Derrick Ansley in the second of two interviews on Thursday afternoon.
Ansley, 43, joined Green Bay’s coaching staff in 2024 following a three-year stint with the Los Angeles Chargers (2021-2023). The Packers passing defense ranked 13th in the NFL last season, allowing 215.2 yards per game with 17 interceptions
A secondary specialist, Ansley spent two seasons as the defensive backs coach for the Chargers before taking over as the defensive coordinator in 2023.
Ansley served as Tennessee’s defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach from 2019 to 2020 and the defensive backs coach at Alabama from 2016 to 2017. He then spent one year as the Raiders defensive backs coach in 2018.
The Falcons also met former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo on Thursday afternoon. Atlanta has now interviewed Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich, Anarumo and Ansley for their coordinator opening.
