The Atlanta Falcons came painfully close to upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night but running back Bijan Robinson couldn’t convert on a fourth-down rush attempt in the red zone. The Falcons turned the ball over on downs and were forced to swallow a 22-17 loss in front of their home fans.
Few outside of Atlanta truly felt the Falcons had a chance on Sunday but they more than held their own against the Chiefs in prime time. The team went 1-for-3 on fourth down, falling short twice with a chance to take the lead in the fourth quarter. Atlanta and Kansas City each committed one turnover but the Falcons couldn’t get into the end zone when it mattered.
Fans on Twitter were crushed after Sunday’s 22-17 loss to the Chiefs. Some were critical of the play-calling, others blamed the referees, and a few were encouraged by the fight shown by the Falcons against the defending Super Bowl champions.
