It’s become a routine for Bijan Robinson to be named the “fantasy stud.”
The free fall continues for the Falcons, and things look really bad at the moment. They have lost their grip on the top spot in the division and got boat raced in the fourth quarter in Minnesota to fall below .500 for the first time since they were 1-2.
The good news is that the offense did play a little bit better so not everything was completely tanked from a fantasy football perspective, the way it was the last couple of games.
This was the last regular season game in most fantasy leagues, with weeks 15-17 being the playoffs. The push has reached its climax as hopefuls look to punch their tickets to the post season and juggernauts look to secure that ever important bye week.
There is a lot of great content available here at The Falcoholic, and I encourage you to check it out if you want some in-depth analysis. This article will look at things strictly from a fantasy football perspective (that means looking at nothing other than pure statistics). Here is Atlanta’s fantasy stud and fantasy dud from Week 14’s defeat against the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Stud/Dud 2024 History:
Past Studs: Bijan Robinson (5), Darnell Mooney (2), Younghoe Koo (2), Drake London, Kirk Cousins, Kyle Pitts
Past Duds: Kirk Cousins (5), Kyle Pitts (2), Drake London (2), Tyler Allgeier, Darnell Mooney, Younghoe Koo
Fantasy Stud: Bijan Robinson
Stat Line: 22 carries, 92 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 2 catches, 9 receiving yards: 18.10 standard league points; 20.10 PPR points
Bijan Robinson keeps on keeping on for the Falcons and for fantasy football owners, with another spectacular stat line. He’s been tasked with being the engine of this offense, and he’s certainly lived up to his end of the bargain despite the poor play from others.
For the sixth time in the past seven games, Robinson was given at least 20 touches (the only other game being a blowout) and he continues making the most of those opportunities, as he now has four touchdowns in the last four games during playoff push time.
Bijan found the end zone late in the third quarter and converted on the ensuing two point conversion (an “octopus”) to tie the game at 21 before the wheels came off for Atlanta.
Robinson is arguably the most valuable running back in fantasy right now not named Saquon Barkley, and he’s hitting his stride at the exact right time of year for fantasy owners.
Dud
Kyle Pitts: 1 catch, 14 receiving yards: 1.4 standard league points; 2.4 PPR points
Kirk Cousins had yet another poor game and he remains the topic at hand within the fanbase, but his 344 passing yards at least salvaged his day somewhat from a fantasy perspective.
What hasn’t been salvageable has been another year of the Kyle Pitts experience. At one point a no doubt top pick in dynasty drafts and the heir of the tight end position, it’s been a third straight season of pure disappointment from Pitts from both a fantasy and a real life perspective, following his explosive rookie season.
Coming into this week, he was the overall TE15 in PPR (that’ll be lower after this performance), and he had a combined 25 receiving yards over the past three weeks. Pitts has failed to reach 15 receiving yards in four of his last five games.
As barren as the tight end position is, you can find a better option than Kyle Pitts in your lineup.
