By dropping their game on Sunday against Minnesota, Atlanta now sits at +185 to take home the NFC South crown, per FanDuel Sportsbook. They were -125 favorites ahead of the game.
The Falcons have now lost four straight, and with their 42-21 loss against the Vikings and the Bucs’ 28-13 win over the Raiders, they have fallen out of first place in the division.
Tampa Bay is now a -230 favorite to win the NFC South.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins had another multi-interception game, tossing two ugly picks in the loss. He has thrown six interceptions in the last two games, fueling the argument that rookie quarterback Michael Penix might be the best option under center moving forward if the Falcons hope to snap their playoff drought.
With the NFC’s three top records coming out of the NFC North, winning the NFC South appears Atlanta’s only path to the postseason. The Falcons were in firm control of the division until their recent skid.
Next on the docket for Atlanta is a trip to Las Vegas to face off against the Raiders on Monday Night Football. Tampa Bay also heads out west for a tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers.
