The Atlanta Falcons shocked the NFL by taking Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in the first round of the 2024 draft one month after signing Kirk Cousins to a four-year deal.
Despite being thrown into somewhat of an unusual situation for a rookie quarterback, Penix is making the most of it. The No. 8 overall pick likely won’t take over the starting job anytime soon, but he’s staying ready for whenever his name is called.
We caught up with Penix earlier this week to discuss several topics, including his mindset as the No. 2 QB, his relationships with his teammates and his unique partnership with Sharpie.
