It’s been an up-and-down season for the Falcons so far, and the confidence of fans is likely up-and-down, too.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Atlanta Falcons fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
I’ve often said, somewhat jokingly, that the Atlanta Falcons exist solely to vex me. I’m not joking about it this week.
What a frustrating game that was on Sunday. And with the dearth of primetime games for our Birds over the past few years, I’d forgotten exactly how annoying it is to have to figure out how to get to sleep when I’m still so mad about the outcome of a football game.
There are a few things I’m not mad about from the loss. First of all, it’s the Chiefs and the best quarterback in the National Football League. I generally think there’s no shame in losing to a team that has a legitimate shot at a Super Bowl three-peat this season.
Secondly, I’m loving the effort we’ve seen from the team in Weeks 2 and 3. It’s a little less frustrating to lose when we can see that they’re playing hard.
And three: It seems like the team’s gotten more reasonable about deploying Kirk Cousins in a way that makes sense. The offensive snaps were much more balanced between under center, pistol and shotgun in Week 3 against the Chiefs.
So even though I’m annoyed about the loss, it really has not diminished my confidence that the team is heading in the right direction. You may disagree, and that’s why we do these weekly surveys! Take the survey below, and talk it out with your fellow fans in the comments. Allen Strk will have the results right here on The Falcoholic later this week.
