This weekly feature is a quiet one with injuries and inactives.
If you’re still reading this feature avidly, thank you. At some point there may be some intrigue, but at the moment there’s just not much to report for this 2024 rookie class.
Still, let’s break down where everyone stands.
QB Michael Penix
That was the kind of Kirk Cousins game that would kick up some Michael Penix buzz if the Falcons weren’t 6-4; thankfully no controversy is looming at the moment.
DL Ruke Orhorhoro
We’re hoping we get to see Orhorhoro again this year; the Falcons are replacing him with Kentavius Street and Eddie Goldman and they’re holding up just fine, but his considerable promise and the need for playing time mean we’re eager to get him back.
OLB Bralen Trice
Once again, miss this guy.
DL Brandon Dorlus
Still no Dorlus on Sundays, and it doesn’t appear that will change until the team feels he’s ready to be a significant contributor.
LB JD Bertrand
Bertrand was out again as he recovers from a concussion. At this point, the Falcons seem likely to hold him out until after the bye, especially with Troy Andersen returning (even if he’s limited).
RB Jase McClellan
We’re not going to see him again so long as Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier are healthy, in all likelihood, a product of being behind one of the two-or-three best running back duos in the NFL.
WR Casey Washington
Six special teams snaps for Washington, who continues to be limited to that role with four receivers ahead of him on the depth chart. Hey, at least he played!
