The former Viking and Brown will be competing in a crowded wide receiver group.
You can never have enough wide receivers in the summertime, as I always say, so it’s not surprising the Atlanta Falcons are out here signing another one.
This week’s addition is Daylen Baldwin, a 6’2” former Brown and Viking who came into the league as an undrafted free agent. He has two receptions for 25 yards in his NFL career thus far through two seasons in the league, and was a lightly used but occasionally explosive receiving option for J.J. McCarthy back in 2021 with Michigan, reeling in a pair of 50-plus yard scores among his 17 receptions.
The Falcons worked out Baldwin recently and must have liked what they saw, because there’s not a whole lot of history to go off of here. Baldwin does have some deep speed to work with, size and solid route running to fall back on, and quality blocking skills, per pre-draft scouting reports, but there’s an uphill battle to a roster spot in Atlanta given the number of options the Falcons have already stacked up at the receiver position. Baldwin’s likely hoping to do enough this summer to latch on to a practice squad spot, and I’m not going to rule that out.

Give Baldwin a warm welcome, and we’ll see how he fares for the Falcons in the weeks and months ahead.
