A pick six for the star safety.
When New York Giants quarterback Drew Lock found rookie running back Tyrone Tracy to start the second quarter, it felt like the beginning of a nightmare for the Atlanta Falcons. The first quarter was littered with missed opportunities and a few questions from both sides of the football, as Atlanta struggled to score and stop the 2-12 Giants.
Are the early drops because of the switch to the left-handed quarterback toward the end of the season? Do the Falcons have an answer for the run game/quick game from this struggling Giants offense?
Then, Jessie Bates breathed life into this Falcons team in the only way he knows how: A back-breaking pick-six for the Giants offense.

Bates was close to getting his hands on one of Lock’s throws earlier as Lock stared down a crossing Wan’Dale Robinson in the front of the endzone, but it was just out of reach for the former All-Pro safety.
Bates wouldn’t be denied a second time.
As the Falcons offense continues to build up their chemistry with their new lefty quarterback, the defense will be tasked with continuing to lift up the floor of this team.
If Bates and his Primetime celebration are any indication, they look to be up for the task.
