Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has not played up to his draft capital, and several prominent members of NFL media believe the team could trade him during the 2025 NFL Draft. Selected ahead of big names like Ja’Marr Chase and Penei Sewell, most believed Pitts was a generational tight end who could reach the same heights as Travis Kelce. Unfortunately, Pitts has never come close to justifying that hype. Lacking the same burst and overall effort that made him such a promising prospect, Pitts has yet to reach the 700-yard mark since his Pro Bowl 2021.
In a recent video segment, Bleacher Report said that Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts is no longer a first-round talent but could draw some interest in a trade. Now entering the final year of his rookie deal, several teams across the league could kick the tires on the once-promising tight end to see if a change of scenery can unleash his collegiate form.
5 Teams That Could Trade For Falcons Tight End Kyle Pitts
Denver Broncos
After making the playoffs with a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix, the Denver Broncos are trying to win it all in 2025. Sean Payton’s club is on the rise, but they have one of the worst tight end groups in the league. While free agent signing Evan Engram raises the overall floor, this team needs a long-term answer. Adam Trautman isn’t anything more than a replacement-level player, but Kyle Pitts has the potential to be a starter for years on end.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers upgraded the offensive line and running back position in free agency, but they have yet to do anything of note with their pass-catchers. Second-round pick Ladd McConkey was the only reliable weapon last year, and the team has not acquired any meaningful help aside from old friend Mike Williams. If the Falcons are willing to trade Kyle Pitts, a coach like Jim Harbaugh might be able to get the most out of the former top-five selection. If he can’t improve with a great quarterback and head coach, then he might be at the end of the road.
Kansas City Chiefs
Travis Kelce pushed off retirement for another season, but it’s no secret the big tight end is almost out of gas. Nobody is capable of completely replacing Kelce’s impact on this organization, but Kyle Pitts has the potential to be an above-average receiving tight end. Andy Reid is the best offensive mind in football, and Patrick Mahomes is perhaps the NFL’s best quarterback. Just like with Los Angeles, Kansas City gives Pitts one last chance to turn his career around before officially earning the ‘bust’ label.
New England Patriots
Josh McDaniels is back, which means the Patriots will attempt to win games with their two tight end sets. Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper are fine short-term starters, but neither player is the future of the position. With New England staring down a long rebuild, the team should see if the Falcons will trade Kyle Pitts. If Pitts works out in New England, then franchise quarterback Drake Maye could have a reliable target for the next decade. If it doesn’t work out, it’s not like one bad acquisition will cost this team a Super Bowl title.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens will not release Mark Andrews, but they could trade him. Isaiah Likely is a starting-caliber tight end, and Andrews is on the older side. If the team wants Likely to be the top option on the depth chart, they could trade Andrews to the Falcons in exchange for Kyle Pitts and a late-round pick.
